Cloud Providers

In order to help the IT organizations make better, more informed decisions and provide optimized productivity considering their cloud applications, Intel Corporation is cooperating with somewhere about 16 of the leading cloud providers all over the world. The main purpose of this collaboration is to introduce the so-called program “Intel Cloud Technology”. The first of its kind initiative will help users see, like, its real face. That way, they will develop quite wide knowledge of this particular sphere, which will help them make the right decisions before purchasing any services. The tendency is that by the end of 2016, the incomes of the IaaS infrastructure will be drastically increased.
What is even expected is that they will rise by up to 41 % on an annual base. With that more and more companies are considering outsourcing of their IT services and technology, supporting the cloud-based services and applications.
As for the cloud technology by Intel, what should be taken into account is that the program itself is based on the collaboration between AWS and Intel, and the necessity to inform their costumers about the specifications, productivity, quality, security of their services, which are used in the AWS installations, as well as the benefits they will derive from all of that in the end.
The users of such services want to know the type of technologies in which their applications work on, simply because they affect directly their businesses.
If you just think about it, even the tiniest change in the productivity of the cloud might affect the sales which the e-commerce web sites make. Shopzilla, for example, has increased its incomes by 12 % only by speeding up website load times.
CSPs is going to promote the benefits of those Intel cloud technologies, supporting its services through many channels. Its main goal is to drastically improve the productivity of the applications plus the security levels so that make sure that any personal data will be absolutely secured.
Thinking about the types of cloud providers, we are going to focus on only the three of them, namely SaaS, PaaS and IaaS.
What is the difference between the three of them?
The first one in this group is the SaaS or also known as software-as-a-service – it includes, for instance, Google Docs or Salesforce, which constitute such secloud desktoprvices that are basically designed for the End Users.
The platform-as-a-service providers or abbreviated as PaaS, is, for instance, Windows Azure. These type of providers offer either Windows or Linux operating system which means that your business may take advantage of much more resources for development and use less for configuration and operating system maintenance. The downside here is that your IT personnel will have less control over the main one.
Abbreviated as IaaS, this type of providers (infrastructure-as-a-service) offer better control over the main operating system but don’t provide automatic operating system updates. A typical example of such providers are the Amazon EC2 as well as the Rackspace, which are actually very similar to the PaaS type.
